Summary of Services
The goal of the counselor is to provide support towards the growth and development of the total child (social, emotional & academics). This is encouraged through weekly classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling, individual counseling, consultation and collaboration with parents, teachers and the community.

Classroom Guidance Lessons are scheduled weekly for all grade levels. The curriculum being used in guidance lesson is the Second Step Violence Prevention. The Second Step Program is designed to help promote social competence and reduce social and emotional problems.

Counseling is a confidential relationship, and is conducted with students individually and in small groups to help resolve their problems and developmental concerns.

Consultation is a collaborative partnership in which the counselor works with parents, teachers, administrators, school psychologist, social worker and community health professional in order to plan an implement strategies to help students be successful in the education setting.
