Ms. Vance's Early Childhood Education II class is learning how the evolution of the computer has changed the face of education. As part of the lesson, students visited Dr. Busbin to learn about the Apple IIe in her room and view a few pieces of technology history. They even had the opportunity to see the historic computer run Oregon Trail. They have gained extensive knowledge of information storage through the years and a new perspective on the field of education and technology. #4theT #BTTY #CTAEdelivers #oregontrail #AppleHistory #gadoe

Constitution Day was celebrated this morning at Tift County High School. The ceremony was conducted by members of the TCHS Student Council which included the signing of a declaration to signify the importance of this day. The presentation of colors was made by members of the GA 51st JROTC. Mayor Julie Smith addressed those in attendance, which included members of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Constitution Day is celebrated each year to commemorate, September 17, 1787 when our Founding Fathers signed the most influential document in American history: the United States Constitution. This established the framework of our government and the rights and freedoms that “We the People” enjoy today. Constitution Week is celebrated each year from September 17th to September 23rd. #4theT

Read aloud is such an important part of our day! For a fun twist on our normal read-aloud, Haley Hooks brought in a projector from her Early Childhood class that read and projected the book on the ceiling! The students absolutely loved it and 100% were engaged! They loved watching the book on the ceiling and listening to it read aloud. Haley is a practicum student in Hope Vance’s Early Childhood Education pathway at TCHS. She attends practicum in Ashly Webster’s 1st-grade classroom at Matt Wilson Elementary. #BTTY #4theT

Students in Forensics learned about forensic toxicology. Forensic toxicology is how chemicals are identified, quantified, and then associated with changes in behavior. Students did an intoxication goggle lab where they studied the changes in behaviors that chemicals have on people. They used goggles that mimicked several blood alcohol levels and various drugs. They attempted to play soccer, volleyball, whiffle ball, frisbee, and jumping rump all while using the goggles. #BTTY #4theT
