A chemical believed to be pepper spray was sprayed on Bus 202 this morning during the middle and high school route. School administrators contacted EMS and out of an abundance of caution it was advised that students be transported to Tift Regional Medical Center for evaluation. Schools are in the process of contacting parents of these students and requesting that they come to Tift Regional at this time. If you have not been contacted by the school and your middle or high school student rides this bus, please contact the school or meet your child at Tift Regional Medical Center. School administrators from Northeast Middle School and Tift County High School are currently on site at the hospital. This did not involve any students that ride the elementary school route.

Students in Forensics participated in a fiber evidence analysis lab. They learned that fibers have different characteristics when they burn. The students burned unknown fibers to compare them to known fiber characteristics. #BTTY #4theT

Students in Ms. Adamson's American Literature class completed a cross-curricular lesson in which they had to combine ELA and math skills. After reading Act 1 of The Crucible, students completed a blame chart, placing blame on characters for causing the hysteria in Salem, Massachusetts. After documenting their evidence, students had to create a pie chart in which they calculated percentages of blame for the various characters. #BTTY #4theT

Hair is the most common trace evidence found at crime scenes. Students in Forensics studied human and animal hair characteristics under a microscope. They learned how these characteristics help in crime investigations. #BTTY #4theT
